longing for the beauty of Mexico...

With mines and Bret's first wedding anniversary quickly approaching (12 Days and counting!) I cannot help but long to be back in Mexico with all my friends and family. Bret and I had a fantastic destination wedding that I would not trade for the world. It is hard to imagine this time last year I was packing, planning and ready to hit the beach! Now, I find myself again this year wishing and wanting to be in Mexico again lounging by the pool or playing in the sand on the beach. So, in honor of Mexico I would like to share some of the beauty from the Iberostar Resort that Bret and I fell in love with so much. No wedding pictures here, just all the wonderful scenery I wish I was surrounded by again.

A view from the lobby - All the lobby's at the resort were surrounded by beautiful water gardens and large fountains. My biggest fear was slipping and falling in one!
The beautiful water that was perfect!

One of the many open air restaurants around the resort - This particular restaurant is where Bret and I had our Rehearsal Dinner

Gorgeous Sunrise on the Beach

And another...

The pools at the resort were so beautiful and all interlocked

Iberostar did such a wonderful job making everything feel tropical

Peacocks! They were EVERYWHERE and so pretty to look at!

And again. They were all open air and just so beautiful!

I fell in love with how green and luscious everything was around the Resort

April Fools!

I really think April Fools is a fun day, if handled tastefully. So, in the spirit, I would like to show you some of the beauty in playing pranks on your fellow friends, co-workers and family members.

Weather Woes

Seeing the beauty in stormy weather - Today in College Station the weather is not ideal but very Spring inspired thanks to all the rain. So, while I wish the sun was out and it was 80 degrees, I still believe that bad weather can be very beautiful.

here comes the rain again...

Do you ever see the little things?

Today I have decided to create a new blog - I don't see myself coming here to write or to talk about much but this one is specifically for beautiful things. Beauty holds so many meanings to many different people. By one definition:

beau.ty
–noun, plural -ties.
the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
But, if you look at the same page where you find the definition of beauty, you will also see the antonym to beauty: "ugliness." This is where, and why, I want to step in. There are so many things out there that people, by their standards, describe as being "ugly" where as some of us just do not see it that way. So I would like to use this blog dedicated to just that. Beauty. In all shapes, sizes and forms and even more importantly, a chance to point out the beauty in all the "ugly" around us.
